Fitting your camera
Will this adapter fit my camera?
Start with my adapter guide: find your camera's film format, then pick the matching adapter. Each product description also lists any measurements to check — for example, the 35mm to 127 adapters need a film chamber at least 25mm wide by 57.5mm high. If you're still not sure, send me your camera's make and model and I'll tell you which one fits.
How do I find out what film my camera takes?
Open the back and look for a film number printed near the film chamber, such as "Use film 620". Kodak's camera names give it away too: "Six-20" means 620 film and "Six-16" means 616. Kodak No. 3A cameras take 122. If there's an old spool inside, the number is often stamped on its end.
What if an adapter doesn't fit?
Old cameras vary, so a little trial and error can be needed. If an adapter doesn't fit, message me before returning it — I may be able to make a custom adapter or suggest another option.
Do you make custom adapters or parts?
Yes — I design everything myself, so I'm happy to look at a custom request. Tell me what you need, with the camera or tool model and any measurements or photos.
Using the adapters
Are spools or film included?
No — you get the adapters only. You'll need your film and an empty spool for the take-up side.
How do I use 35mm film in a medium format camera?
35mm film has no backing paper, so cover the red window on the back of the camera with black tape to stop light leaks, and wind on by counting turns. When the roll is finished, open the camera in a dark room or changing bag and rewind the film into its canister by hand. My adapter guide has more tips.
What are the adapters made of?
They're designed by me and 3D printed, mostly in tough PLA. Small layer lines are a normal part of 3D printing.
Can I choose a colour?
Adapters are printed in whichever filament colour I'm using at the time, so colours vary. If you'd like a particular colour, ask me before ordering and I'll do my best if I have it in stock.
Orders and delivery
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
I post orders by Royal Mail 2nd Class for £1.60, and delivery is free on orders of £15 or more. I aim to dispatch within 1–2 working days, and Royal Mail aims to deliver 2nd Class in 2–3 working days after that. Need it sooner? Ask me about 1st Class or Special Delivery.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Yes — to Europe for £4.50 and most other countries for £5.50 per order, by Royal Mail International Standard. I don't currently deliver to the USA, Israel or Argentina. Your country may charge import VAT, duty and a handling fee on delivery, which you pay. See my Delivery & Returns page.
How do I pay?
By card at checkout. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, so your card details go straight to them and I never see them.
Will I get a tracking number?
Royal Mail 2nd Class isn't tracked. If you upgrade to a tracked service, I'll include the tracking number in your dispatch email.
My order hasn't arrived — what should I do?
If it hasn't arrived within 10 working days of dispatch, let me know with your order number and I'll look into it with Royal Mail.
Returns
Can I return an item?
Yes — you can cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. Return postage is paid by you if you've changed your mind, and by me if the item is faulty or wrong. Custom-made items can't be returned for a change of mind. Full details are on my Delivery & Returns page.
